Bohemian Czech Folk Art-inspired Tables by Chris Williams

These tables are designed and made here in the Gweithdy by resident artist Chris Williams - best known in Wales for his 2018 Eisteddfod Chair design. 
 
Their design draws from Chris' Czech heritage and they explore motifs and symbols that he has discovered and researched through his family's artefacts, letters and historical referencing.
 
Construction
The legs are made in ash and form a fixed underframe which supports a laminated ply top. The lamination on the table top is painstakingly created using a marquetry technique where individual colours and features are made and inserted like a complex jigsaw to create a comtemporary inlaid surface. 
 
Each table is 'signed' underneath with Chris' makers mark.

Selection
As each table is created indivdually - prices vary according to number of colours in the colourways used. (See drop down for details).

Off-white and powder/baby blue (£429) 
Multi-coloured - fusion of  vibrant greens, yellow and cerise on a light blue background (£479) Purple with blue and white (£429)
