We are planning participatory community projects for you to join in with remotely!
Resident artist Gayle Rogers' 'A Road to Change' Art Challenge is now over but you can view the exhibition in the windows of the gallery throughout January 2021 as part of this year's international Big Draw Festival and inspired by the 'Climate for Change' theme participants used their drawing skills to be part of positive change! Although the project has ended you can still purchase a Drawing kit and have a go at being creative at home or send a kit to a loved one. Our new programme 'ART PANE RELIEF' will use the gallery windows to exhibit work whilst we are closed.
In November 2020 many of you were inspired by exhibiting artists Tracey Leonard and Lucy Jane Purrington. For those unable to make their show the virtual tour of their ADLAIS / ECHO show was really appreciated. Many of you sent in your photographs of the Rhondda to the Rhondda Creative Facebook page for the chance to be to be featured as a winning photographer! Ongoing project updates are available at the RCCG Facebook page
We work closely with the Rhondda Creative Community Group (RCCG) & other local & national groups, charities, schools & societies to host events, exhibitions & workshops in the gallery and beyond. Many are active online during lockdown.
You can view 'The Art Box Tour of David Hurn's Ynyshir 25 mile Radius Exhibition' (supported by RCCG volunteers & David Hurn) film by Lucy Jane Purrington here.
Sadly, community events and workshops in the gallery
are currently postponed until further notice.
